A show worthy of dedication to the Godfather
ReplyDelete3/4/10 was a stellar show. Straight seguefest first set, which included a rare Is Truth which segued out of O Jeremiah and segued into Medicine Daughter, a funky Cosmic Dirgible followed by an atypical 19min Sun Guy with a big funk jam in the middle into Old Town Manitoba, which is one of my favorite new tunes.
ReplyDeleteThe second set included a menacing Frying Pan which preceded the best rendition of East African Bush to date in my opinion. This was followed by a 15min jammed out He's Gone which segued into Lo and Outside, which rocked as usual. The set-closing segment was a dark, spacey trilogy of It's an Ambush->Squash Anyone->Camba.
The encore of this show was much more than your average encore. It included a spacey Where Is My Mind which led into a full-band keyboard jam. This was followed by an I Shall Be Released that eventually landed in space and an "And We Bid You Goodnight" outro.
Fantastic show. Been playing on repeat for the past week. 5/5
